The eight people who were arrested during a predawn operation by a joint police/military team on Monday in Old Harbour Road, St Catherine where an illegal bottling operation with counterfeit liquor was uncovered, have now been charged.
The police have identified the eight people as:
- Richard Gregory Snr, otherwise called ‘Boswell’, a 45-year-old vendor of Old Harbour Road, St Catherine;
- Allando Gregory, otherwise called ‘Dulass’, 50, a carpenter of Gregory Park, Portmore, St Catherine;
- Sadeki Gregory, otherwise called ‘Salo’, 30, of Old Harbour Road, St Catherine.
- Brandon Gregory, otherwise called ‘Popo’, 20, of Richmond, St Mary.
- Jordan Gregory, otherwise called ‘Sham’, 22, unemployed of Richmond, St Mary.
- Richard Gregory Jr, 19, of John’s Road, St Catherine;
- Oshin Gregory, otherwise called ‘Lisa’, 24, a shopkeeper of Dempshire Pen, St Catherine.
- Amoy Palmer, otherwise called ‘Abbie’, 21, of Gordon Pen, St Catherine.
The eight people, seven of whom share the same surname, have been charged with breaches of the Copyright Act, the Excise Duty Act, and the Spirit Control Act.
